Web Toolbox: Dirpy
Every Tuesday we spotlight one of our favorite web tools. The tools can be funny, productive, useful, or nonsensical. If you would like to suggest a tool please click here.
How many times have you found a great lecture on Youtube and wanted to throw it on your iPod to listen to later? There are many tools out there to pull down the video, but wouldn’t you like just the audio so you can listen to it while you are out and about?
Dirpy is a simple tool to take Youtube videos and convert them into MP3s. It allows you to select how much of the video you want to convert, and also gives you the option to download high-quality versions of the video itself. There’s even a bookmarklet you can add to you browser’s menu bar to initiate the process directly from Youtube instead of copying and pasting the URL.
