Before you go to pay sites like iStockPhoto to find resources for your project that you don’t have the skill, time, or money to produce yourself (I’m talking stock footage and images, not templates) check to see if there are some Creative Commons resources you can use for free. Creative Commons Search is an easy tool to search sites like Google, Flickr, Jamendo (music), blip.tv (video), and many others for rich stock content. Always make sure to check the license, but generally things can be used for free, or as long as you give credit for it. You can search specifically for content licensed for commercial use too.
